Interview with FGP Opening Party Artists: Sanaz Ghajar and The Lovelies

DJ Built4collapse (Sanaz Ghajar) will be spinning tunes at FGP's opening festival party on April 10th, featuring the Lovelies and more artists.

What are you most excited about in bringing your work to the FGP Festival?

SG: dance dance dance!

Lovelies: As a company that improvises in performance, we are excited to bring a very genuine example of process, negotiation, and collaboration as is, in real time.

Send us an image that describes or represents your artistic process (bonus points for a gif)

Who are some of your art heroes?

SG: rauschenberg, pina bausch, kanye west

Lovelies: The Architects, Penny Campbell, Susan Scorbody, Alex Springer and Xan Burley, Nancy Stark Smith, David Dorfman, David Bowie.

Oh no, your process is showing! What's your artistic process guilty pleasure? Or what's the thing you do that you don't want to tell us?

SG: drunk "choreography" sessions with ben hobbs + rom coms

Lovelies: SHTICKS! Patterns, habits, and go to moves that feel good and have been done before. They may be new to a moment in THIS dance but are veryyyy familiar and fun to repeat.

What other events in the FGP Festival are you really pumped to check out?

SG: very very excited for Lorelei Ramirez's LATE NIGHT series. anything she puts her stamp of approval on I will get behind.

Lovelies: The Parade Ground ( love a good marching band) & Late night!

Where can we read more about you, your process, and chances to see your work! (website? social media handles?)

SG: @built4collapse, built4collapse.org
